Release notes for version 4.4.2

Collectives support

When Collectives is enabled on your Nextcloud, every team now gets a Wiki tab in the team tab bar that opens the team's Collective directly.

Shared pages widget for Intravox and Collectives

The pages widget is now shared between Intravox and Collectives, so both sources show up in the same place. We also added an action in the widget header to create a new Collectives page in one click.

Trial-key requests are now e-mail only

Requesting a trial key now goes through e-mail only, so the key never travels over channels we can't verify.

Stricter validation on team names

Team names can no longer contain special characters. Spaces and hyphens (-) are allowed; everything else is rejected.

Telemetry pauses when a licence key is active

Telemetry is now disabled whenever a trial or full licence key is active.

Expiry warnings for licence keys

Nextcloud admins now get a native Nextcloud notification and a banner on the Licence tab when a key is about to expire — so renewals don't sneak up on you.

Hardening: 22 stray `#[NoCSRFRequired]` attributes removed

Stripped 22 places where #[NoCSRFRequired] was declared but not needed, tightening the CSRF surface.

✓ Fixes

Display names shown consistently

Fixed several places where the account name or user UID was shown instead of the user's display name.

Issue #66 — comments toggle on team messages

Team owners and admins can once again control whether comments are enabled or disabled on team messages.

🧭 Roadmap

Dropping Nextcloud 32 support

Planned — 1st September release

We support the two latest versions of Nextcloud. You can still run TeamHub on Nextcloud 32 with the last release before the 1st September release, but those builds will be out of development support after that. Plan your upgrade(s) accordingly.

Dropping group folder support

Planned — 1st October release

Nextcloud Teams is going to make Team folders the files option going forward. We already support Team folders as well as Teams' default shared folder — if you still use shared folders, we encourage you to migrate to Team folders.

Tip — You can add a Team folder next to the shared folder under Manage team → Integrations → Team apps → Files. Then move the files from the shared folder into the new Team folder and disconnect the shared folder.

Note —The files widget prefers the team folder over shared files folder. Copy the data from the shared files folder to the team folder asap after you enabled the team folder

MCP support

Research

MCP (the Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants talk to external tools and data sources through a common interface — think of it as a universal adapter between models like Claude or ChatGPT and the apps you actually use.

For TeamHub that would mean your team's messages, decisions, presence, projects, and files become first-class context an AI assistant can read and act on — safely, with the same roles and permissions the team already has. We're exploring what a first useful surface looks like.
